ABOUT KEITH
Keith Barrett is a lifelong Rockport resident, graduate of Rockport-Fulton High School, and a longtime advocate for Aransas County’s coastal community and working waterfronts. As Executive Director and Harbor Master of the Aransas County Navigation District (ACND) for 18 years, Keith oversaw Rockport, Fulton, and Cove Harbors, Rockport Beach, and the District’s most important waterfront infrastructure.
With decades of experience in heavy marine construction and management, including work on major infrastructure projects for the U.S. military, Keith has built a career grounded in integrity, accountability, and results.
Rebuilding After the Storm
Following Hurricane Harvey, Keith led the recovery and reconstruction of critical harbor facilities, restoring essential assets, securing grant funding, and helping rebuild the community’s trust in public institutions. His focus on fiscal stewardship strengthened ACND’s long-term financial stability and helped ensure taxpayer dollars were spent wisely.
A Product of Aransas County
Born and raised in Precinct 2, Keith understands what makes Aransas County special: its people, its heritage, its waterfronts, and its interconnected community. He has lived the values of hard work, grit, and service, and is ready to bring that perspective to the
Commissioner’s Court.
